Stroked

Hey guys, how is everybody doing? Having a good summer? Mine is pretty eventful. There are some highs and obviously some lows.

Well I just got back from a trip from the beach, or marshes to be politically correct. Well, its not about that and I will blog about that in a later date.

Last week, my grandpa from my maternal side got a stroke. Yes, he blew a nerve in his brain. He was unconscious for a few days and now is limp on the left side of his body. He needs to be fed via a tube but fortunately he will not need it next Wednesday. Having being ailment free for his entire life and leading a very active lifestyle, we find it very shocking. But ignorance is definitely not bliss as when it was revealed that he had suffered high blood pressure for years, according to the doctors stationed at the government hospital. No one knew as he never went for a medical check up.

My mum was hit very badly. She was pulling back tears since the day she heard the news and after the aforementioned trip she went to her parents' house almost immediately after that.

All is not lost as after the stroke hit, he was up within a few days and was able to talk like any normal person. It is a relief that he is able to do that so quickly. But his whole left side is limp and he could not even stand. At his rate of recovery, I think he would be much better in a few weeks. I just got back from his house not long ago and he can move his left hand with ease. All he lack is the strength to hold on.

As for me, I an trying to do my part. Being quite free for the time being, I guess taking up the title care taker is not such a bad idea.
